Natalie Portman meme?
January 16, 2005 7:01 PM
[SlashdotMemeFilter] What is the link between Natalie Portman and hot grits? I know it started on Slashdot, and I realize the obsession with Natalie Portman is a result of the more recent Star Wars films, but I have never been able to find what she has to do with hot grits. How did this meme get started? P.S. Google's got nothing and my questions to Ask Slashdot got bounced.
Thanks! Never occured to me to check wikipedia for not-so-pop-culture references.
Cheers!

furtive: I've only run into one thing i've searched for that wikipedia didn't have in it, and I knew enough to add the article and put up a request for someone who knew more to flesh it out. Wikipedia's amazingly satisfying, curiousity-wise.

More accurately, it was to do with how in Soviet Russia a naked and petrified Natalie Portman pours hot grits down YOU.

I had never heard of the Portman/Grits connection until this thread...my first thought was that someone had confused Natalie Portman with Al Green.

Oo, there's an interesting description of "Article text alteration trolls" there that make me want to try it myself. Yep, that's right, I'm subversive.

I read the question as 'What is the link between Natalie Portman and hot girls?' I thought that connection was rather obvious...
