I'm not looking for a Look.

(CandyFilter) I'm trying to remember the name of a candy bar similar to Annabelle's Big Hunk without the peanuts. It was just the hard nougat with no chocolate or other coating. I think it may have had a red wrapper. They were available in New Mexico in the late 80's, but I think it was a much older candy that was available on the west coast (California).

Could it have been Bit-O-Honey?

Abba Zabba? They are the white sticky taffy candy (without nuts) and there is peanut butter in the middle.

Oops -- the Chew has chocolate.

Here's a good resource for looking up old candy.

Whatever it was, it was nougat only, the hard kind like the Big Hunks. There was not filling or peanuts which was why I preferred it over the Big Hunks that my Mom liked.

There's something called the "Skinny Hunk," which seems to be exactly what you describe. It's apparently new(ish), but I wonder if it was around for a time in the 80s too...

I was going to suggest SIR bars, but I think they had a chocolate coating... throwing it out there, though, in case I'm wrong.

I had already been to Old Time Candy and come up empty. And while the Skinny Hunk is not what I am probably misremembering, it does fit the bill exactly. Thanks.
