What's a unique/interesting/weird New Year's Eve place/event that is 3 hours driving or 2 hours flying from Dallas, TX?

Flaming Lips NYE Freakout 3 in Oklahoma City? Weird, whimsical, and all sorts of fun.

On a slightly similar note, I don't suppose you like the Yonder Mountain String Band, do you? (sort of jam band-y bluegrass-inspired mayhem) If so, they always play nye shows in Denver or Boulder. This year's show at the Fillmore is apparently being emceed by "John DiMaggio, the legendary voice of Futurama's Bender!!" which could be, um, interesting.

Or you could fly up to Chicago- I don't know of anything specific to recommend there this year, but man does that city seem to take new year's seriously.
