What is this tree?

Hi, please help me try to identify this type of tree (bush? shrub?).

Best answer: That'd be Corylus avellana "Contorta", or contorted Hazelnut, or Henry Lauder's Walking Stick.

(No, I have no idea who Henry Lauder was, I just know it's been sold under this name commercially.)

[Gotcha, unSane. Thanks. Where it says "Henry" above, it should obviously say "Harry." My kid's name is Henry. I claim paternal pride as an excuse.]

Around here we call them "Corkscrew Hazelnut".
