I need a graphic artist Memorial Day weekend

Who can I find in Washington, DC to help me do a short letter to my parents in the form of a graphic novel? Simple pen illustrations, about 30 pages, I'll tell the story ahead of time and then we'll walk through it together and you can draw any environment you would like around the character representing me and those involved in that particular sentence. You would be doing me a tremendous favor as I learned I today that I am facing a personal catastrophe that I probably have three years to save myself from.
This post was deleted for the following reason: this needs to go in to jobs - it's not clear from your question or follow-up that you're not looking for a MeFi to do this so please make it clearer, thanks. -- jessamyn
Also, fyi, 30 pages is not short in this context.

You mean panels not pages, right? From the post title, it sounds a bit like you want somebody to give up their weekend to work on your project.
IMO that's only likely to happen if you can be clearer about what kind of style you're looking for (an example of something you like), how much work you actually need done and how much you are willing to pay.

Response by poster: I am thinking something in the style of Guido Crepax but would welcome any other ideas.

Response by poster: I am thinking that Memorial Day weekend would be the only possible time in the next three years I will be able to say to myself, "I will see this project to fruition." By no means do I want an artist laboring away in my house for three days on a 30 page comic book but to at least be determined to commit the story to an animated conversational description in that time period.

Response by poster: I would expect artists would tell me their rates and we would work out what's fair based on regular published totals versus work accountability, publication fees, and expenses.

Over 200 projects I have created were turned into published works. So, by no means do I expect an amateur to spring forth from the great murky green unknown, but I'll sure as hell give them the same chance to make real money that I wanted when I was starting out.

That's a tremendous amount of work you're asking someone to "just do", especially in two days. I think you are seriously undervaluing illustration skills, here.
