Google is dead

Is it just me, or is Google broken?

Nothing in the google domain works for me -- gmail, google.com, even sites that link to jquery libraries on google code.

Yeah, if you search for gmail or google on Twitter, you'll see lots of people having trouble.

It's down for me right now. I was going to snark and send you to Downforeveryoneorjustme.com but that's not responding for me right now.

I just checked by googling some random gibberish. It's working for me in NJ, but more importantly, I learned that nicsdn has about 144 results!

Fake Rapture!

Actually Google Apps Status page shows a service disruption right now for Gmail. Here's the full text if you're not able to load the status page:

We're aware of a problem with Google Mail affecting a small subset of users. The affected users are unable to access Google Mail. We will provide an update by May 14, 2009 10:23:00 AM UTC-5 detailing when we expect to resolve the problem. Please note that this resolution time is an estimate and may change.
*This may also be affecting other services

Gmail's fine but the rest of Google seems broken, including half my Google bookmarks. It wouldn't even open Facebook!

I'm in NYC.

We're getting reports (Google Apps customer), but only for certain networks. Probably a specific data center somewhere that's having issues.

Google has a dashboard for such outages (of course, if google.com is having problems, I'm not sure how you'd get to it.)

Dashboard here. There are a couple of problems today. Google (obviously) is very proactive about such things, so by the time you read this, google will probably be working again (and likely you should indicate when it does, else this thread will be a trainwreck of "Me too!!!!!!!!" and "Working here!!!"
