Looking for die-hards for a possible photoessay.

Do you have, or know someone who has, an interesting obsession (not the creepy stalker kind) that I could photograph?

I have a germ of an idea for a project in which I would photograph people who are driven by all-consuming hobbies. Some examples include:

Obsessive sports fans
Bodybuilders
Collectors
Model train enthusiasts
Endurance athletes
Trekkies
Car mod cultures
People who put up epic Christmas light displays

And there are tons of categories I haven't thought of. Do you potentially fit this description? Do you know someone who does? Are you willing to be photographed for an hour or two? If so, I'd love to hear from you (and my email is in profile if you'd rather communicate that way).

I'm looking for people in the US, but beyond that location doesn't matter too much since this is still very speculative. I travel all over so I could potentially make anything work.

I think it's fair to say my dad's hobby of restoring vintage motorcycles has approached obsession.

Martial artists? I train daily in Aikido in the Boston area, and there's a good community of us similarly dedicated.

Ask MetaFilter is not intended to be a forum where you solicit volunteers. Try Projects.

Anime fans? I believe there are anime conventions (probably) all around the country. I can attest from a convention held at my school last year, that the fans are quite over the top and make great photo subjects (and are usually very willing).
