Where can one rent cross-country skis in Niagara Falls?

Going to Niagara falls in a week for anniversary/vacation. Wife is an avid cross-country skiier, I am an avid amateur geologist whose dream is to ski along the Niagara escarpment.

I've googled much about parks, trails, etc, but since we're flying, and I don't have my own pair, we will have to rent. I can't find a darn thing on Google or any of the other usual suspects. Surely such a service must exist.

We're flying to Buffalo, renting a car, staying on the Canada side, so either side, or even Buffalo is fine.

Of course tips on scenic x-country trails on either side are appreciated, although that info is plentiful.

A couple of ideas is all I could come up with, it's been too long since I lived there. Call the Buffalo Nordic Ski Club (716-284-2987) and ask them if they know. Contact Niagara Falls Tourism and ask them if they know. Check your own skis, or rented locally, as baggage. Call-up a couple of sporting goods stores that have used equipment to see if they have much in the way of cross country skis and boots on hand as cheap disposable equipment. If you're willing to drive to Burlington, you could check with Tumblehome.

You might want to check with Red Door Ski, Ski Market, and Sports Replay to see if any of them offer rentals.

Cupolo's Sports on Ferry St. in Niagara Falls, Ontario used to rent skis, both downhill and cross-country. However, I'm not sure if they still do or not.

(905)356-4850 is their phone number. Give them a call and ask. If they don't rent them anymore, they will know who in the area will rent them.
