Must...Find...Bar

Hello fellow Americans and concerned citizens around the world. Please help me find a bar in downtown Manhattan where I can watch the presidential debate tonight.

That's about the extent of it. The only place I've found is in Time Square, which I would like to avoid.

Thanks and happy watching.

Here's a list of events around NY for the debate tonight from my.barackobama.com . Some are fundraising events and some are no cover. A few are parties at peoples' houses.

Response by poster: Thanks- the ones in NYC bars are unfortunately not downtown. But I appreciate the link.

Any other thoughts?

My favorite downtown bar is the Ear.

Not quite downtown-downtown, but I know Whisky River (32nd and 2nd Ave) had the first debate on when I was there a couple of weeks back.

Tonight's the first night in ages without any baseball playoff games, so I think most sports bars/Irish pubs would be willing to put the debate on with sound for you -- especially on a Tuesday night.

If you're not averse to Brooklyn, I know of three places in my own neighborhood showing the debates. (One is a diner instead of a bar, though...) Look for "Mo's", "Chez Lola" and "little House" in the Fort Greene/Clinton Hill neighborhoods.
