Which characters from Shakespeare's plays do the party leaders in the Canadian federal election resemble most?

I saw Stephen Colbert doing this for Obama, McCain, and Palin this week and wondered if any canucks had any idea how it would apply up north...

Best answer: Well, after thinking about this for a bit, what popped into my head was Harper as Malvolio with Dion as Aguecheek. I guess that would make the other three Toby, Feste and Maria.

Harper is Malvolio, for sure- I thought so too, winston.
Layton has hints of Puck, or maybe Mercutio?

They're discussing this very question on CBC radio, As It Happens, coming up in a few minutes....

Best answer: Now available on their "podcast".

Harper: "I would not wear my heart upon my sleeve for daws to peck at"
Dion: He may drive us to drink water.
Layton: "I can keep honest council, and deliver a plain message bluntly."
