Where can I rent an XBox 360 in New York City?
Does anyone know where I could rent a video game console (esp an Xbox 360) in New York City? I have my little brother coming to visit, and I'll need one for two weeks.

Just buy him one!

Hmm. Two weeks? It might be more cost-effective to buy a secondhand one, then re-sell it when he leaves.
(Also, you might want to try to find a free one-month trial of Xbox Live while you're at it.)

Response by poster: I called some Blockbusters here, because I remembered them doing it before too. No one knew what I was talking about, though they def rent games.
He owns an Xbox, but our mom's not letting him take it in his bag. I bought him an XBox Live membership last year, is it possible to log in and use it from another location?

The 20GB Xbox 360 is about to experience a price drop. Next week it will only be $300 at Target (down from $350), with a $25 gift card to boot.
You can likewise get them refurbed from Buy.com for $200: http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=201975275
At those prices, I would be surprised if renting it is really economical.

Regarding the XBox Live membership, the easiest way for him to get his account online is to bring his profile with him on the XBox hard drive (it's detachable) or a memory card if he has one. But failing that, he can recover his gamertag over the internet to any console, it just takes about 15 minutes to download.

I'm pretty sure that Blockbuster no longer rents consoles. I tried to rent one last summer and the guys behind the counter snickered and looked at me like I was a drooling idiot. I figure its just not economical for them to rent consoles anymore.
