bookworm game?

So, you may think that this is a waste of a question, but I really need to know: what do I need to play Bookworm on-the-go? I am taking a long flight this week, and the only way I can envision myself passing the time is by playing Bookworm. But, my computer battery will only last for two hours or so, and the flight is much longer. Is there a handheld version of Bookworm that I am unable to find online? I mean a standalone version, not something to play on a portable Nintendo, which I do not have. If you know of one, please direct me to it.

Judging by PopCap's site and the Bookworm wikipedia article, the answer to you question would seem to be 'no'.

Do you have access to any sort of PDA device? It appears there are versions available for the Windows Mobile and Palm platforms.

Some airlines allow you to charge your laptop if you ask a flight attendant. Depends upon the airline and their mood at the time, of course, so not something to rely on. That would be even better if you had a spare battery and a stand alone charger.

Best answer: Last week on a Delta flight, the plane I was on had touch screens in the top of the seat in front of each passenger that could be used to watch tv shows or play select games. It just so happens that Bookworm (and other Pop Cap games) are listed--for the price of $5 or so. You can also play a trivia game against your fellow passengers.

If you fly regularly, and it's not always on Delta, or it's sometimes on smaller planes, the cheapest option would probably be a secondhand PDA. I'm no expert, but I imagine that a monochrome Palm that runs off regular batteries would probably be easiest.

A Nintendo DS has a better selection of games, but if you only like Bookworm that's kind of a nonissue.

Do you have any kind of PDA? I used to have a copy of Bookworm that I used on a Dell handheld device, and one for a Palm version before that, so they are out there.
Here is a link to the Palm one, and this is for the Pocket PC version.

IF you're going to fly a bunch, getting a Nintendo DS is a great investment. The batteries last 4+ hours and the games are great (although if anyone knows of a bookworm-like game for it I'd love to know).

FF: They made a GBA version.

Further to fallenposter's answer, those touchscreens are also on some Continental flights as well. But they were free!
