Hello, I'm looking for the locations of where famous crimes in San Francisco took place so I can organize a bicycle ride with some friends to check them out. So far I've come up with 101 california, the location of the last gun deul in califonria by lake merced, and the hibernia bank (patty hearsts bank robbery). any other spots that we should check out would be most appreciated, the more accurate the address, the better.
Washington and Cherry (Zodiac killing).

The corner of Washington & Cherry near the Presidio, which was the location of the murder of Paul Stein (in a cab) by the Zodiac on October 11, 1969.

An address -- 3899 Washington is where three teenagers (sibs) saw the Zodiac and called the cops.
I was going to give you the address for Artie Mitchell's murder, but it's in Marin -- damn!

There are other Patty Hearst sites in SF- the house where she was held in the closet, etc. Also check the Zebra killings. I had a guidebook once that had lots of great information - all the movie theaters where Anton Lavey played the organ, etc. Sorry I don't have specific addresses. Sounds like a fun tour.

There's the Trailside Killer (Mount Tamalpais' trails) and Theo Durrant's killings at the Emanuel Baptist Church (19 Bayview Street).

Actually, the Emanuel Baptist that had the murders was burned down (twice!); that address was somewhere between 121 and 181 Bartlett Street.

San Francisco Emanuel Baptist Church -- now gone, but existed between 22nd & 23rd streets on Bartlett (today's 151 to 165 Bartlet). The 1895 murders there of Minnie Williams and Blanche Lamont were (apparently) a huge huge story. Theodore Durrant was executed for the crimes at San Quentin in 1898.

Yuck, the Zebra killings would keep you riding from place to place to place .... I think they may be too depressing and randomly dispersed.

Rooms 1219, 1220, and 1221 are the rooms at the St. Francis where the Fatty Arbuckle party/death happened in 1921.
Also at the St. Francis, the Post Street entrance, Sara Jane Moore tried to assassinate President Ford in 1975.

S&M murder house.
1906 post earthquake arson.
101 California St. 8 people killed by homicidal rampage.
You could follow the route of Omeed Popal's driving rampage.
If you ever get tempted to do a crime tour of the south bay, there was a famous lynching in St. James park.

Wasn't there a mysterious unsolved death at site of the ruined Sutro Baths? Is that too far away?
I also read people think that place is a cult hangout, FWIW.
