Perth (Australia) Filter: Anyone know where I can purchase a perspex/lucite/acrylic, clear, lockable donation box in the Perth metro area? Size would be suitable for putting on a small table. Would need to accept notes as well as coins. I only want one.

Ohhhh...Sorry can't help you...Just got excited at seeing Perth in a post!
WE ARE NOT ALONE.... ahem...very sad and pathetic but NOT alone :)
ON a long shot... radio stations have competition barrels etc... Give the promotions department a call at one and see where they order that stuff from....

This seems like something that's much easier to make or have made than to be able to buy, especially in what's probably a very small market like Perth.

If it were me I'd buy a sheet or two of the plastic along with the appropriate adhesive and build it myself. If you're not too handy you can undoubtedly find someone local to make it for you.

Best answer: I just did a bit of ringing around found a place in Belmont called Display Components. They have lockable clear acrylic boxes (which they call ballot boxes) that are 300mmx200mx200m for about 60 bucks. You can call them on 9333 1322.

Response by poster: Thank you very much.

Out of interest, how did you find them?

No worries, krisjohn. It really wasn't much of an effort and I had a little bit of time to kill anyway. I went to the online yellow pages and put "perspex box" into one search field and "greater Perth area" (or whatever the option is from the drop-down menu) into the other. A couple of places popped up and the first one I rang suggested calling that Belmont place.

Your question has been answered, so I don't feel bad in not answering it... but I have to say as an American I LOVE PERTH!!

Been there a couple of times - my favorite restaurant in the world is the Indiana Tea House out on Cottlesloe Beach. Also love the wine/lunch place at No. 44 Kings St. Perth is like a 'little big town'... all the charm of a small town with all the amenities of a big city!!
