I need a good and regular NFL weekend recap column to follow

I'm not interested in following the endless churnalism of sports news because ain't nobody got time for that but I'd like to follow a regular weekend in NFL football column by a decent writer. All the ones I used to follow have either been laid off or retired. Any recommendations? Preferably not behind a paywall.

You want Mike Tanier's Too Deep Zone. Mostly paywalled, but worth absolutely every penny.

Paywalled but worth it, especially if you are also interested in other sports: Defector.

Writer-owned, features many of your favorite sickos from Deadspin gone by.

Response by poster: Just to be more clear I am looking for a column like Peter King's FMIA monday morning column or Easterman's MMQB.

A single column once a week recapping the weeks NFL action. I really don't want to have dig through an 50 stories to find it or assemble it from a multitude of separate columns.

Best answer: Try USA Today's 4th and Monday.

Best answer: Been reading The Ringer's NFL Under Review by Sheil Kapadia and Winners and Losers of NFL by Steven Ruiz. Found those to be similar to MMQB, but lighter. I also subscribe to Defector, primarily reading Drew Magary's pregame stuff on the Jamboroo.

The NFL itself has a What We Learned column. CBS Sports has a Winners and Losers column by John Breech.

Best answer: It looks like Gregg Easterbrook still does TMQ (along other things) on his substack

Does the Walter football recap fit your needs?
