Writing about performance art

I'd like to read some writing about performance art — what people's goals with it tend to be, how they go about it, etc. A little pretentious is good, but not overly so.

A example of some writing I've enjoyed in this space is the Black Rock City Post Office training manual (warning: .doc link), but I'm open to lots of types of things.
