German vocabulary

Where can I get hold of German vocabulary lessons/lists on cd or mp3?

Apart from Michel Thomas's vocabulary builder, most of the commercial German courses I have found focus on grammar. Now I want to improve my vocabulary, preferably using my iPod. Are there any good vocabulary lessons on the Internet as downloadable files or available commercially? I have had some success making my own vocabulary lists using a dictaphone and converting the files to mp3 format, but my pronunciation is not that good and I would prefer to listen to a native speaker.

There are free German courses here with downloadable mp3 and PDF files.

This isn't striclty vocabulary, but there are some great ideas in here for anyone trying to learn any language, including ripping the audio tracks from the foreign-language soundtracks of sitcoms and movies.

Best answer: There's a company called ClipTip which offers both a free German vocab podcast with about 5 words a day and a paid download of german words as English > German or German > English in mp3 format. It comes in two varieties, a smaller and a larger one (which has 5000+ words), and at the current exchange rate the larger one goes for $22.19 US.

Response by poster: Many thanks, Frankieist - just what I was looking for. I have purchased the larger podcast and am looking forward to practising with it.
