Art "How to Draw" Book for Kids

When I was a kid I had an amazing "How to Draw" type book and I think there was a whole series. It's long gone but I want to buy one or more for my own kid. Help?

Things I remember: I believe that the books were themed by color, and I think I had the "green" book. There were sections of how to draw by themes, and in the book I had, there was a section on trees, a section on lighthouses and islands (?), and a section on martians and martian landscapes. The concept of the drawing lessons were putting together shapes into increasingly complex compound images.

I loved this book, read and drew with it until it disintegrated, and spent probably hundreds of hours drawing massive alien landscapes, entire coastlines of imagined countries, and more.

Any idea the author or series? I'm pretty sure the author's name was prominent on the cover.

Best answer: I assume this wasn't Ed Emberly but just checking... Was it cartoon-y more more real-life looking?
