What Is This Word/Feeling That's On The Tip of My Tongue?

So, today my husband informed me that while I was out of town he bought a new type of household cleaner. This elicited a response from me that was less than kind. When he asked what the deal was, I tried to explain but the word that I know exists to describe my feeling completely eluded me. What was the word?

I know my feelings were a bit (a lot) ridiculous, but whatevs. I just need to know what word I was thinking that described my feeling.

Here are some words that sorta describe how I felt: threatened, my territory was encroached upon, offended, like my cleaners weren't good enough, insulted, hurt, irritated, resentment

There is a very specific word that I'm thinking of. It's on the tip of my tongue. I'm also willing to concede that it may very well be a word that I already listed above but I don't think so.

The word may start with the letter "i". But don't get hung up on that.

What word is it?!

Oh I got VERY MAD when my husband bought Palmolive when the shopping list clearly said "Dawn", and we have literally only ever used Dawn for the past 11 years. Also he doesn't even wash the dishes! I felt many things; irritated, ignored, and incredulous mostly.

Response by poster: Close but not quite: invalidated and irrelevant

But still not exactly the word I’m thinking of.

I once got in a big fight with my husband at IKEA because he said he wanted to buy some things to organize the sink, because he felt it was too messy. The sink where he had not washed one dish in months. I felt like he was acting as if I wasn't doing a good enough job of keeping the sink clean so he was "stepping in", instead of like, actually washing a dish as a way of keeping the sink clean. I felt belittled & insulted.

Obsolete? Extraneous?

I often get into fights with my husband about him bringing home the wrong brand of item from what's written on the shopping list. It seems careless/dismissive of my knowledge about the distinction between the two things.

You could say your competence was “discounted”, if it wasn't even considered in the first place

Judged as incompetent maybe? Like, did YOU feel like you were incompetent or did you feel like he was saying that?
