What would you make with this fabric?

I've ended up with some fabric I don't know what to do with. It's two pieces of wool suiting-type fabric, each about 1.5 yards x 60 inches. Fabric A is solid tan, and fabric B is a coordinating tan, brown, red and blue-green plaid. Tan is really not my color, and none of my family members live close enough that I can make them things that require fitting. I am an adventurous yet lazy sewist. What should I make?

Ideas I've had so far:

- some '70s-ass pants
- throw blanket
- bunch of scarves
- or hats?

Suiting is great for bags. With some nice metal and/or leather fasteners you could do something with the plaid along the lines of an English hunting theme. For the tan, you could do some brightly colored embroidery on the bag.

How about a cute 70's handbag instead of the pants? A handbag and a matching mini skirt.

Throw pillows for your couch.

A weird family of fabric dolls with made with the plaid fabric.

A cape for the fall months.

Best answer: Yeah, a two-faces cape sounds great. Or I have a habit of using upholstery fabric for clothing; there's no reason you couldn't use your wool suiting to make a throw with stitched quilting.

Handbag, or vest maybe? Poorly fitted vests can be hidden under a jacket.

stuffed animals
storage bins
cloth napkins/placemats/coasters
potholders
slippers
pet bed
cosmetic/shoe bags for travel

if you want to get extra adventurous, you could also try overdying the fabric to get a shade you might like better.

Dopp kits for everyone in the family. They look great in wool suiting.
