What is this book?

Do you know the name of the fiction book which was likely published in the last decade, takes place around the mid-1800s to early 1900s about an immigrant Jewish woman, who is either sent away as part of an arranged marriage or she runs away?
My mom is trying to remember the name of this book and has told me the details that she thinks she remembers from it:
There was definitely a plot line having to do with a marriage. The woman runs away, has adventures, and ends up in the wilderness in a cabin in the dead of winter (that’s what my mom is firmest on). She meets a hermit-type of guy; she stays with him for a few months and they form a relationship. He goes out one day to do some trapping, but he doesn’t come back. She thinks he’s dead, so she eventually leaves, but he survives, comes back to the cabin, finds the note she left him, and somehow tracks her down, maybe in San Francisco.
She thinks that the book is a one- or two-word title, like "Always" or "Any" and the author or character may have been named Amy.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
