Manuscript Evaluation

Editorial Manuscript Evaluation. What does it cost? How do you find a good match? Any advice for getting value out of the service? I'm looking for a professional that can help me turn a thoroughly polished and "good as I can get it" novel length draft into something publishable. I'd love advice, because I don't want to waste my time or money on this, and I really do want it to work out. Help? Thanks!

Have you checked the Editorial Freelancers Association? You can search their directory for editors with experience in fiction, and this chart will give you an idea of common industry rates for different types of editorial services.

What genre? I can probably give you a few suggestions. However, you can't go wrong with the EFA. You can also post a job listing with the EFA for free. You'll probably get dozens of qualified applicants.

Response by poster: General fiction.
That gives me a great place to start though, thanks.
