Sci-fi search filter

I'm looking for a specific online sci-fi story.

I read a short sci-fi piece in the last year or so from a link on either boing-boing or MeFi about a guy who discovers a source of unlimited energy and then gets promptly imprisoned. My google-fu has totally failed me. Where did I see this story?

Gee, I've been contemplating a story with a simiar idea for years. Of course someone else would write one, but I'll have to read it, I doubt it is at all like mine :-)

Another take on the theme is a story by Theodore Sturgeon. His protagonist pulls it off.
"Baby it's you" may not be the title- can't find it in his bibliography.
