Good venue for a Brooklyn bachelor party.

[BrooklynFilter] The best man has tasked me with finding a gentlemen's club for my friend's bachelor party.

The best man is from out of town, so I had to tell him that no, there really aren't any strip clubs in Carroll Gardens or Cobble Hill (which is where the bars he knows we enjoy are.) Unfortunately, I don't know where they are, having never been to one myself, and long past out-of-touch with the dancers I used to know.

So, help me out here. The only strip clubs in Brooklyn that I've seen post-Giuliani are all in sketchy strip club/sex shop ghettos and no one wants to go out to the middle of nowhere for that caliber of entertainment. We'd like something as close as we can get to classy (we are gainfully employed, but can't really afford Midtown-style classy), laid back, and where the dancers aren't miserable.

We all live under the park, but I know that's not going to happen, but if it's going to be up North, it would be great if there was a car service place nearby. We're not going to schlep to Queens, but below 14th St. in Manhattan may be doable.

I know that you don't want to go to Queens, but there are plenty in Long Island City. What's just a few more exits on the BQE? Consider it in case of an emergency.

Must it be a strip club? There are a ridiculous number of burlesque venues in New York, both in lower Manhattan (especially the lower east side) and some in North Brooklyn.

Burlesque would hit more of your classy, affordable, and location requirements, but there won't be buying of lap dances and such. I don't know of any strip clubs in NYC that aren't sketchy, but as a lady I'm more inclined to burlesque than strip clubs anyhow.

Was going to second burlesque. There's more uniqueness and wit in the Burlesque scene; not as much nudity, but more....wink-and-a-grin. There's a lot of places doing that, in fact. (Although, if anyone in the party would be alarmed by this, just be aware that some burlesque shows have guys...)

there's one in Tribeca I think. I'm not going to link it because I don't want to google "strip club Tribeca" while at work, but try that.

I think if he wants a strip club experience, burlesque is just not going to do. It's fun and all, but it's really more about the performance than whoo! naked ladies and definitely isn't a boys' environment the way strip clubs seem to be.

Response by poster: Yeah, this is definitely a girls with large plastic shoes/rock and roll hits of the 70s sort of affair.

It's middle of nowhere-ish, and I don't know how sketchy it is (probably very), but you should look into Pumps in Williamsburg. You should be able to call Northside for a car from there.

Home now, Googled strip club Tribeca, NSFW here it is. Never been there, totally not my thing, but I saw a lot of dudes hawking it when I was working down there. Also, ya know, it's downtown.
