Adirondack Fly Fishing

What are some good fly-fishing rivers/lakes in the Adirondacks that have a nice hike to get too?

The Lake Colden-Flowed Lands area is both a destination and a way point. Hikers who just want to get away for a weekend to a beautiful mountain and lake setting may make this their destination. There are a lot of lean-to's to choose from and almost all have beautiful lake and mountain views. The majority of hikers, though, are just passing through, using this as a way point and a trail junction. They arrive here from Upper Works, Marcy Dam, or Heart Lake headed for any of a number of peaks and trails.

Adirondack Journey is the goto site for Adirondacks hiking — Includes information about all of the 46 high peaks. This site supplements trail descriptions with lots of photographs that detail trail highlights, obstacles and hazards, views and markings. Other pages include all sorts of things: view ratings from each peak, how to hang a bear bag, how to hike smart, and a geological history.

The West Canada area of the Adirondacks has some great hiking and fly fishing. I have gone several days without running into any other campers or hikers. Here is a link to a site about fly-fishing in the area.
