NorCal Backpack Filter. Looking for a seasonally appropriate backpacking trip in the latitude of Prairie Creek Redwoods, Trinity Alps, Shasta, Susanville for this weekend.

I'm in a trip rut. I keep doing late fall/early winter trips to Miner's Ridge in the Prairie Creek redwoods. It's time to try something else.

Parameters: Snow free route, less than 8 mile hike in, big views.

Bonus Points: Granite, hot springs.

Feel free to PM me if you have a favorite spot you wouldn't like broadcast.

Not backpacking, but Goldbluff beach is a hoot this time of year, lots of trails to take out of the campground and fern canyon is one of the coolest spots ever.
