Help me become an organ donor.

Playing the translated Russian game 'Pathologic' on the PC. One immediate problem - I cannot for the life of me figure out how to trade items.
I'm playing as the Haruspicus, and after yanking some organs out of the guys who jumped me at the beginning, I went to the lake and spoke with the worm there. I can open up the trade window, click on the organs to get a positive value, and then click on the various twyres to get it back to an even trade... and then, nothing. There's nothing to click to confirm the trade, and every key I hit kicks me out of the conversation and I have to start over. Am I being incredibly dim and totally missing something?
