Fit two bikes in a Toyora Matrix?

Can two road bicycles fit in a Toyota Matrix Wagon? I would fold the back seats down, lay them flat and take the front tires off.
Yeah, it'll take some work to get the second one in, and two people (one at the back, one at the side door), but it's doable.

You mean the front wheels. Rear wheels can come off, too, though that makes the piling configuration more tricky. Seat posts can come out as well, if the bikes are too tall to stand up.

Absolutely. I did it several times in my 2003 Matrix. It didn't take two people either, though the bikes were on the lighter side at about 25 pounds or less each. Very easy.

Best answer: I have an 03 Matrix, and I've fit 2 road bikes in there without a problem. I just had to take the front wheels off each one (one was a 52cm, the other a 58cm). I've fit 3 bikes in along with a third passenger by taking the front and rear wheels off.

It's a good idea to lay some old towels or a blanket on the first one, so you don't have the two bikes rubbing paint off of each other.

I have a Matrix also and I don't even take the front tires off. Just angle the front wheels so they go down the backs of the front seats and both bikes will fit fine. You don't shove the bikes in, though, you have to lift them up then place them with some care.
