Where do white/paper birch trees grow in Massachusetts? They must have them in the Arboretum in Jamaica Plain, but I am looking for a spot in the woods.

Please don't go into the forest and take bark from a live birch. It may kill the tree. Seriously, if you want birchbark, call around to arborists and see if any of them have recently cut down a birch.

Response by poster: This is for photography. I should have been more specific, but I didn't anticipate judgment.

Best answer: I just saw a bunch along the Tully Trail, near Athol, MA.
