We were at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, watching feeding time at the otter tank. After enthusiastically disposing of a fish, one male otter was floating on his back, grooming his fur -- and quite obviously pleasuring himself with his clever little paws.
As the scandalized mothers towed their children to a safer exhibit, my friend Kris just managed to gasp one word before sliding to the floor in giggles.
"Ottereroticism."
