We'll be in Portland, Maine (not Oregon!) this week and because of COVID are hoping to find restaurants with outdoor seating, so we don't have to eat takeout in a park every day twice a day. We like all kinds of food but lean toward inexpensive hearty food for every-day eating vs fancy meals. Any recommendations? Also, any must-see or must-do things, or anything fun going on this week and next weekend in Portland, or within a 1 hour drive? [more inside]

I'm looking for a cheap place to crash off Rt. 95 near (or slightly North of) Portland, ME this Friday night. Visiting Old Port section of Portland, ME and looking for a nice restaurant for a family with kids aged 10 & 12. Would like something nicer than a chain with burgers (though it's great if they are on the menu) and pizza, but not as high end Caiola's (pate and goat cheese won't go over well with the kids). We are hoping for a nice sit down, local beer and ambiance would be great. We are staying at the Portland Regency Hotel and would prefer something within walking distance. Oh we are definitely going to Bintliff's for breakfast on Sunday.
