Vets!! WTF! Anyway do I own that sample? Should that vet still have that sample if I wish to have it sent elsewhere?
There was blood in the lump biopsy (fine needle aspiration?) on the last draw back(of 3). He said he was *at fault* for its presence directly after but then also said it was from within the lump. Would this have rendered the sample useless?? He's shady as fuck and I don't trust a word he says!
This is getting long HIS EMAIL, ect. will be in here.
The Email-
In regards to yesterdays visit, Mr Schmickles has 2 lumps, 1 very small and pale and on the skin surface #, another below the skin and attached/infiltrating# the muscle and flatter and larger. I took a sample from the larger lump – this sample produced some blood#(which is very unusual in fatty lumps) #and the smear was predominantly blood but with a scattering of clumps of cells (not clear because of all the blood) which were suspicious of ‘sarcoma’ cells.# To reach a definitive diagnosis a better sample is required and it needs to be sent to a pathologist. To do this Mr Schmickles needs to very relaxed#, thus the need for sedation. At this time I would recommend sampling both lumps and sending the more suspicious (or only suspicious) lump to the pathologist.
#yes a new lump, he wasn't concerned though
#he didn't mention that at the time
#2 draws were cells and the last had blood
#first he said there was no fat at all just suspicious cells (and the blood) then a little later spoke of fat/S.cells/blood making a conclusive answer impossible
#he took it to his van to take a look at it. Mentioned the microscopes strength (X?) with pride so I trust he could see it. But was going to see if he could "clean it up a bit".
#he wasn't 'very relaxed' but he was ok and he was still and at a comfortable height for the procedure
A cost outline is as follows;
Sedation 88
Theatre hire 37.5
Needle biopsy*2 22
In house cytology*1 16.50
2nd in house cytology 6.50
Pathology*1 92
Total 262.50
#Why am I paying this cunt $16.50 to look at the same lump I paid him $75 for already and that I'm paying Pathology another $92 to look at?
I have made a tentative booking for next Tuesday, I would pick him up at 12pm and drop him home at 7pm. Please let me know asap if this is suitable and you want to proceed.
Sooo.
Does that all sound right to you...?
Which leads to the second part of my question. I have emails and the contents of his website (along with my biased opinion). How do I find out if this was all acceptable? And then either way do something about it?
This meaning more than the $16.50 - that's just part of my case against him. He is a mobile vet but was it logical to come to my home ($$) If SO hadn't been there the sample would have been impossible meaning ($$$) the need for a trip down there. Which he was planning and was about to head off before SO helped out(-$$$)
There are more little things but you get the theme here.
This guy was really manipulative, for years now I've had a really sharp BS filter - comments or facts that don't fit are number one - stuff that doesn't 'feel right' does this stuff to my tummy that makes it a close second. By the end things were indicating nothing good and I was suddenly at the point of thinking I might cry (it wasn't the right time for that??) but even through that I still aware of him trying to manipulate me and use my sick kitty as a means to an end. (Yeah! He felt real bad, huh.) SO missed most of it but commented on how off the guy felt... (See, told ya.)
Fuck him, sell used cars but don't screw around with peoples fur-babies, Mate. (His website gave the feel he catered to little old ladies and such. There's a pic of a nice little dog.) Oh! He must care...! Ya know.
How can I give this guy a friendly little nip. (...Bite his face off is cool too.) I suppose you could figure out who he was but this isn't about a smear campaign. I'd like to find something more substantial. A refund would be neat but I think some kind of ethics or consumer affairs type people to scrutinise his ass would be better to rectify this shenanigan (and prevent future occurrences).
You can only take from the 'Save the Kitty' fund if you are actually going to make some sort of attempt at or even give a rats ass about - saving the kitty! Not happy, Jan...
And yes I'm looking into another Vet. I don't have the cash for trial and error but hopefully it can all be over by next week. Brisbane Northside if anybody has a suggestion?

This post was deleted for the following reason: this is a rant disguised as a question. please try to make it a question without all the ranting and calling the vet a cunt if you don't mind. -- jessamyn
