What can I do today that is within walking distance of King station in Seattle?
I'm arriving at King Station in Seattle in about half an hour on an Amtrak train and have a layover of several hours while I wait for my next train. What can I walk to to entertain myself in that time span?
Thanks!

Best answer: Visit Magic Mouse Toys and the Elliott Bay Book Co. I could kill half a day between those two stores easily.

Walk over to Uwajimaya it's a grocery store but it's a magical grocery store. The Pike Place Market is also within walking distance. The Seattle Art Museum is even closer.

Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe is right on the waterfront and, though somewhat touristy, has a lot of interesting stuff in it. Also, the waterfront's kind of cool.
Check out Kinokuniya Books in Uwajimaya in the International District.
Hit up Pike Place Market if you have time. Get a Crumpet there at The Crumpet Shop. Watch the fish guys scare kids with their monkfish.

The waterfront, with the aquarium and a few dozen restaurants, shops, boat tours, etc., are all an easy walk. I just did exactly that with my four-year-old ... walked from the train station to the aquarium, had lunch, did a little shopping. Loved it.
Be warned, though, that the area immediately around the station is closed on Sundays, and sketchy when there isn't a good-sized crowd moving around (as there is on weekdays and Saturdays).

Or take a bus up to Pike and chill at the Pike Place Market. (it's a short bus ride, but a little too far for time-constrained casual strolling imho)
