This is my question about a book

In David Foster Wallace's essay “E Unibus Plurum" he references a book with Gastro in the title, and likens it to "televisual Image Fiction." What's the full name? Is it worth reading?
It's available here. It's interesting, and can be funny, but hoo boy his style gets old quickly. Don't read more than one Leyner book a year.
