Looking for Seattle military base used for art installation

I'm looking for information about a former military (?) base in Seattle that was used as a space for various art installations.

I remember going there, maybe around 1998 or 1999. It's an abandoned military complex of some short--no tall buildings, a little beaten-up, no people there, spread-out. The gimmick was that they'd put about 10-15 artworks across this decrepit base. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? What is the name of the base and what was the exihbition? Pictures would be great.

Is it possible you're talking about Discovery Park in Magnolia?

Wow fast response. Based on googling Discovery Park, I have a feeling that it's not it. I don't remember the location having as much greenery, though there might have been a few trees. Also I remember it being more spread-out, flat, and concrete-filled than these pictures of Discovery Park.

If it helps, I remember you can take a bus there from UW.

Magnuson Park includes the decommissioned Sand Point Naval Air Station, which has been used for exhibitions.

Or to clarify--the bus doesn't go directly there, but you can take regular public transportation to get there.

Thanks for the answers! It does look like Sand Point and google tells me I must've gone to "Horsehead, a playful exhibition of temporary, outdoor art installations curated by Seattle artist Matthew Lennon, mounted shows at Sand Point in 1998 and 1999."

Great job--the right answer in about 5 min!

Magnuson still has some of these exhibitions and apparently mounts other temporary ones occasionally.
