Want to have a picnic today with my kids. Is it too late to schedule it?

As has been discussed, I have encountered a number of legal challenges to my parental rights under Mass General Law 209A. The process seems to be working but it is very slow. Mostly, I would like to have a chance to see my kids, which has been denied to me under a restraining order. I filed for a court supervised visit but as yet (10 days later) do not have a calendar date.

What has your lawyer said?

The legal process is slow, and from my experience the legal system favors the mother and devalues fatherhood. Regardless, that can't stop a well-meaning and loving father from continuing a realtionship with his kids. I suggest corresponding with them via snailmail. If you have a child who still likes to be read to, buy two copies of a children's book and mail one copy to the child. Then over the phone you can read the story and your child can follow along.

Peace and love, although subtle and quiet forces, can win the day. Comply with the restraining order and reach out to your children in new ways. Let the love for your children be the navigating influence in your life and make your decisions based in their best interest.

IIRC, the restraining order forbids any attempt at contact, including email, snail mail and telephone calls. Do not do what rinkjustice suggests. The best thing you can do for your kids right now is to act a little saner and stop trying to violate the restraining order.
