Album cover trivia, anyone?

I'm looking for trivia/insight to album covers- their origin, meaning, or anything in between.

Two specific ones that have always bugged me: R.E.M.'s Monster (anything behind this one? tell me it's a magic-eye!) and Weezer's blue album. I once heard there was an in-joke about the blue album cover but haven't figured out what it is (or even if it's true- the all-powerful Wikipedia doesn't mention anything).

Any other fun ones you know would be appreciated.

I read years ago that the bear on the 'Monster' album cover was taken (scanned? photographed? digitally enhanced? I dunno) from a children's ballon. This page confirms that "The bear's head on the front cover [of Monster], and reproduced in silver against a blue background on the disc itself, is taken from a balloon manufactured by the Tilly balloon company. (An early plan was to include a balloon with each CD.)"

I think the blue album cover is a take off on an old Beach Boys album cover.

That would be The Beach Boys' Do It Again.

If memory serves (my copy of the CD is at home) there's an image of the full bear (head and body) somewhere in the liner notes. Or perhaps it was the collector's edition of the album.

Yes... a quick Googling, found this image of the limited edition of Monster.
