Proud to be in America

For U.S. Citizens/Dwellers-- There are a lot of reasons to feel shame at living in the U.S. right now. But I'm wondering about what makes you feel proud. What events, people, or cultural moments, past or present (if invoked) makes you feel proud of where you live?

I'm in upper Manhattan rather than either the Bronx or Queens, but I'm feeling pretty good about Tiffany Cabán as the new Queens DA and AOC as the Rep from a neighborhood very near mine. And about the new New York State Senate generally, now that it's controlled by actual Democrats (and my particular state senator, Robert Jackson).
