Morbid question below the fold

Putting the entire question inside (re ballistics and reflexes) cos it’s not very nice.

Could one shoot oneself numerous times in the head? Like, would one halve time to pull the trigger three times in quick succession? Been listening to murder mysteries and the question occurred to me, it is 8000% hypothetical and rather tasteless, but could you?

Does the weapon have to be held in your hand? Or could you mount it someplace reasonably far away and use a string tied to the trigger (or something like a camera trigger) to fire it?

Per my husband who has logged some time in a trauma ICU, it is possible to shoot yourself in the head and live. Based on that, I would think you could manage to shoot yourself a couple of times if needed.

Response by poster: Good follow-ups! I should probably clarify that I mean handgun, in hand and with the first shot being more or less instantly fatal.

The bullet could ricochet possibly. You could also get shot through the jaw, which would not be instantly fatal, and could shoot again.
