Your best kids audiobooks

What are the outstanding audiobooks for kids that you’ve read? My guys are 6 and 8 and really dig the stuff with multiple cast members. I’m looking either for the modern humor stuff like Origami Yoda or excellent renditions of the classics. Not stuff that’s too snarky. Not podcasts.
Best answer: Laurie Berkner's song and story kitchen is a lot of fun and multiple cast members. Your 8 year old might be pushing a little old for it, but my 7 year old happily listens to it. It is free if you have an Audible account.
The Odyssey award is given to audiobooks for young adults and kids (it always seems to lean heavily towards ya, but you could mine the last couple years to find some good ones. http://www.ala.org/alsc/awardsgrants/bookmedia/odysseyaward
The Wizards of Once is very well done--not exactly multi-cast, but David Tennat makes you feel like it might be.
I listen to a lot of audiobooks for kids and I find that very few are multiple cast. I have heard good things about HP if you think your kids are old enough for it.

Best answer: Perhaps in a couple years: His Dark Materials has a cast and is narrated by Philip Pullman.

Best answer: It's a single reader, but Diana Wynne Jones's blood are fantastic as audiobooks, especially the Crestomancy series and the books in the Howl's Moving castle trilogy.

Best answer: Even though it doesn't have a cast, I would definitely recommend Jim Dale's reading of the Harry Potter books. He does such a deft job with voicing each character and making it different than the rest, they might enjoy it!

Best answer: Also not a cast, EB White's reading of his own Charlotte's Web and The Trumpet of the Swan are pretty great.

My son also loved the Tuesdays at the Castle series, by Jessica Day George.
I haven't listened to the audiobook, but it does have a full cast, and the book is wonderful: Dealing with Dragons, by Patricia C. Wrede.

Best answer: The Magic Misfits by Neil Patrick Harris (also read by him) was gobbled up by my then 8 year old. As soon as he was done listening to it the first time he started it up again and listened to it all the way through. The kid was also a big fan of the Jim Dale read Harry Potter books.

Yes, I should have mentioned that I was looking for the second greatest series of kids audiobooks, as the first slot is firmly occupied by Jim Dale's HP readings. My library queue is now totally full and we should be set for a few months!

Response by poster: We just finished Castle Hangnail and it is excellent. Now we are listening to one of the 'Origami Yoda' audiobooks, which is also sassy and full cast, for future readers.
