Child Seats for a Dutch Bike

I am looking for child seat recommendations to put on the back of a Dutch bike.

My wife got a Dutch bike last summer (well it's Belgian actually) but she couldn't decide on a child seat so the only times she rode was when we were all going together and I was taking the kids in our trailer. The weather is getting nicer so now we're looking for a seat so that she can take our almost 3 year old with her when I'm not around.

She doesn't like trailers (and we already have one) so we are looking for a seat. I think because of our kid's age it has to be a rear seat now. We don't need a system where we can share the seat between our bikes but it should be easily removable so that if I'm taking the kids in the trailer then she doesn't need to still carry the seat on her bike. Ideally it would be something that looks nice on her shiny red bike.

The Dutch are more into front bike seats.

Response by poster: We were looking at front seats last year but they are only good for kids up to 15kg/3 years old and ours is almost 3 now.

Front bike seats should really only be used for smaller kiddos. I think at 3 years, you should use a rear seat, as you suspected.

I can personally recommend the Yepp Maxi. They're very popular in Amsterdam.

I personally use the Hamax Caress, which can be used with a rear rack (looks like your bike has an integrated rack).

Second the Yepp Maxi. I used one from age 3 to age 5 with no issues (other than his legs getting too long at the end).

The two major brands here in the Netherlands are, I think, GMG and Bobike. They're both fine. I used to own a Bobike and never had a problem with it. I just saw on the Bobike website that their seat has "click and go" mounting. I have no idea how well that works because everyone I know keeps the seat on the bicycle all the time.
