metafilthy replacement?

Recently, it was brought to light that metafilthy records the IP address and metafilter user name of its user. My question is: does anyone have a replacement that auto-scrolls my browser to my last read comment for each thread but that also retains my privacy?
There was a rogue safe version, but because of the server was in the US and subject to the DMCA, it was taken down. [And yes, I could have posted this question to metatalk, but the metatalk thread was already a flame war... so I thought it was appropriate to start over in a different forum. If you want to start a flame war, please just continue posting to the other thread in metatalk.]

This post was deleted for the following reason: please take it to metatalk
Response by poster: I didn't think of that. But, maybe zsazsa would think I'm T.P. Diffenbach testing to see if he is violating the DMCA. Plus, I was hoping to encourage someone to write a replacement for the entire community.

It was suggested in the metatalk thread that greasemonkey can be used to replace some aspects of metafilthy. It doesn't look like anything there will autoscroll though.

If you put this line in your hosts file (C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts on Windows, for example), it will be unable to phone home:
127.0.0.1 www.diffenbach.org
Writing a replacement for the community would be quite an undertaking. There would be an awful lot of code. MetaFilthy is already out there, and is otherwise an excellent extension that does the job well.
