Proven ways to get a fuller face
June 14, 2015 2:37 PM   Subscribe

I have searched the net for ways to get a fuller face. I want to know first hand experience of someone who had a sunken face and who was able to add volume successfully.

I am not considering surgical or injectable treatments. Of the many ways suggested on internet, I liked 2 in particular:

1. apply butter on the face
2. apply olive oil on the face.

Has anyone tried these and got results? In how many days can I start seeing some difference to help me stay motivated and keep going?

Thanks.

Do not apply butter to your face. Drink more water, use products with hydrating oils in them, but for the love of god, do not put butter on your face and don't listen to any website or beauty guru who tells you to.

Unfortunately, fat applied to the skin does not have a way of soaking through and becoming a part of a fat deposit under the skin.

Hydration and moisturizing can help your skin feel fuller and plumper.

Lipodystrophy and, more specifically, lipoatrophy are the words for disordered fat distribution that can result in facial wasting. This is most commonly seen as a side effect of HIV retroviral drug treatments. A quick Google search mostly results in medical treatments that are beyond what you're interested in, but perhaps these terms can help you research methods that others have tried to restore facial fullness.

Response by poster: But drinking water or applying hydrating oils will not add volume to my face. I am desperate to get a fuller face.

Are you willing to put on weight? My face gets fuller when my body fat gets higher. There's a fairly misogynistic saying about how as she ages, a woman has to "choose her face or her ass," ie if she has enough body fat for her face to fill out, her butt will be too fat to look nice. (I did say misogynistic.) That's a pretty good way to get fat deposits naturally in your face without injecting them. Obviously if you don't want higher body fat, it's not s good solution.

FWIW, a hydrated face is inherently fuller, and oils and extra water can help smooth out the really dehydrated parts of your skin and supplement whatever collagen you still have. Gaining weight can also help give you a fuller face. But the methods you're currently researching will not.

Response by poster: I am willing to put on weight. But invariably the weight comes on my stomach, hardly ever on my face or butt.

Whereas whenever I lose weight, my face is the first one to look even more sunken.

Isn't there a home method to increase the collagen or fat in your face, or do I have to live with it the whole of my life?

I have a stupidly full and fat face and would love a chiseled, less chunky face. I feel like I look like a greedy chipmunk! Proof: here-

(o.o)

blah this one shows the extra bloat I always get before that time of month that makes my eyes squished due to my chunky face
However I bet if I did have more chiseled face it would not suit me. I don't mean to lessen your worry about this but face shapes are all different and yours probably suits you.

Sometimes we worry about this stuff when no one else notices it. I totally understand. But its our unique features that do make us who we are.

Response by poster: In my case, most people notice it and have commented on it that my face is very thin. I am too conscious about it to ignore it any more.

Gain weight or injectables. Nothing applied topically can get deep enough to do you any good. Sorry! I would focus on learning to love your face just as it is. Don't listen to those telling you there is something wrong with you. You are who you are. Embrace it!

Okay this is what I avoid and what you should try

- eat healthy fats (smoothies with coconut oil, avocado, Greek yoghurt, a little unsalted butter)
- gain weight and muscle so your face and body look overall better
-drink a ton of water. Like a ton.
-facial massages

You asked basically the same question in 2006. The answers haven't changed.
