Petty filter: is there a way for me to get revenge on this scammer?

What can I do to get at least a little revenge on this scammer?
Some idiot has been stringing me along on a variant of the check scam. They pretended to want my translation services for 1000 dollars, mailed me a fake check for 3K saying they will want another document translated, but I am pretty sure he or she will tell me nevermind, send me a refund in a couple of days. and I will be out 2K plus all the work that went into the translation.
I had a bad feeling about it so I checked to see if the check had funds, and the bank told me it was a forgery.
Also, the dummy sent the check using a UPS account, which made it possible for me to track their work place and their location (UPS customer service told me). I called the work place (large department store) to let them know, but I know they have no evidence or way to see who it is and the scammer will probably never even hear of this.
The thing is, s/he doesn't know I know, and I was thinking I might have fun with them a little. At least just to waste their time. Would it be weird for me to pretend everything is going according to their plan and then never issue a refund? or do you have any other ideas about what I can do?
