Do any "Western Bibles" give arguments?

Does the Hebrew Bible, the Christian New Testament, the Koran, the Book of Mormon, or any other "Western Bible" give arguments? If so, give examples.

To give an argument is to give reasons for thinking that one's conclusion is true.

This post was deleted for the following reason: Heya, it sounds like you're maybe looking for examples of a fairly specific kind of rhetorical/structural element in religious literature, but as framed here it's not really clear exactly what that is or why you're asking. Maybe try and reframe this with a clearer description of what you're looking for an maybe a couple of examples from non-Western religious works if that's what you're contrasting against for the purpose of the question? -- cortex

Arguments for any conclusion whatever?

The Talmud is 6,000+ pages of arguments.

"If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. If your right hand makes you stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to go into hell." Matthew 5:29-30 .

And I think the word you're looking for is "religious scripture" not "Bible."

Response by poster: I am looking for any argument whatsoever.

There is, however, a problem with the "argument" that MetaFilter user "If only I had a penguin..." just gave, which is that its conclusion is a hypothetical command and is therefore neither true nor false. Thus it's not really an argument from a formal standpoint, even if one might argue that there's an implicit conclusion lurking in there somewhere.
