Selling big box DIY hardware stores and TONS of market data needed

Does anybody know how to get very specific market data for H,σ.m,É. D.é.p.ò.t. and its competitors? Does anybody have experience selling them that can offer any advice.

I have been given the opportunity to sell one of my Mósqúitö repellent products to H.σm É DÉ pòt in a line review. The amount of information they are asking for is astounding. They are asking me to complete and external market analysis of which I am having trouble completing due to a lack of available (and free) information. We are a completely new and unique product and don’t quite fit the categories they are asking about.

They want things like:

Industry size by channel and units: Mass merchant, home improvement specialty, COOP wholesale, etc.

Industry share by retailer by dollars and unit: H σm.É D.épòt, LÖ.wÉs, Mènâ,rds, Wäl,màrt, etc.

Brand share, price points at each retailers and even more.

I’ve found some industry data on insect repellent in general but not in the detail HD is requesting and not exactly specific to my product line. See here. I have access to a business school library online but cannot find what I’m looking for in any database I have access to.

It could be that they are not interested in exact numbers and know that they can be hard to come by. They may just want to know that you know your market.

I apologize for the cryptic text on the retailer names. It’s the interwebs and it’s never a bad thing to take precautions. I can provide additional details through mefimail if necessary.

Thanks all!
