Living in the city vs living in the country or near the sea. Thoughts?

I would like to hear everyones personal views on this topic!
This is part of some research that I am carrying out for creative writing. At the moment I live in a huge metropolitan city and feel both the stress and the benefits of this decision. In truth, I don't last long before I feel the need to go out into the countryside to relax. I feel like I belong somewhere in between and often being close to the sea is the only true way I can collect my thoughts. Previously, I published a short story on the topic and am planning to write more about it in general.
So, where do you live? Why? What are the benefits/disadvantages of living in each place? Is there anything you truly love about either living in or visiting each place? I would love to hear about them.
