Looking for iPhone games that will get me out into the real world

I recently installed Ingress, a massively multiplayer augmented reality game for smartphones, which involves walking around in the real world to find and capture virtual "portals". I thought it was a neat idea, until I realized that it's a thinly disguised Google data mining project. Boo! Are there similar games which aren't (or at least don't appear to be) creepware?

I briefly played around with a very similar game named Shadow Cities a couple of years ago, but it seems to be defunct now.

I have an iPhone, so suggestions should run on iOS. Thanks!

Response by poster: I should add: I already know about geocaching and letterboxing, so none of that, please.

It's not obvious which parts of Ingress you found most appealing, but if you're just looking for motivation to wander around in the outdoors, there's The Walk, where you unlock story snippets by walking. (By the same folks who did Zombies, Run!, inter alia MeFi's own adrianhon.) Location tracking is optional; it uses the accelerometer to detect walking. I'm about 3/5 of the way through and really enjoying it.

Response by poster: Downloading The Walk now.

It's really just the "gamification of going outside" that I like about Ingress: I tend to be a sedentary hermit, but I respond to the kinds of motivations one finds in games. Reach the next level, find the necessary item, collect all the stars, unlock all the achievements. So I'm interested in any games that require me to get out and walk around in order to make progress.

The Walk is excellent, though I did not find the story compelling enough to finish it. Still it is probably the best example of the kind of game you are looking for -along with zombies, run! from the same people.
