Who to pay when bypassing the movie distributor?

Just suppose that there is a service where you could buy off the guilt you have after watching and enjoying a movie you have illegally downloaded. Who would that service give your money to if you're not buying the movie from a distributor (retail, NetFlix or anyone else)?

If it's a "just suppose" thing about a hypothetical, that's "chatfilter" which is against guidelines. If you are asking what address / who you could send money to, the question needs to be specific about that. Let us know if you have a concrete question. -- taz

 
Since this service doesn't exist, there really isn't an answer to this.

That said, the owner of the movie (probably the studio) should receive the funds. They have the responsibility to distribute profits based on contractual agreements.
