Foliage Vacation Ideas in the Northeast During Mid-Late October

For my friend’s 40th she’s mentioned that she would like to celebrate by renting a house for an extended, 4-day weekend (between this October 18th and 25th) in a place that hits the following touch points:

Great views of the foliage! Based on some quick research, it seems like peak foliage during this time would be on Cape Cod/Connecticut/Southern NY?

Somewhere quiet...hoping for a wooded area, with lots of nature...although a quaint nearby town would certainly be welcome.

Would also be interested in any nearby annual events...Octoberfests, Pumpkin festivals, etc.

Right now I’m leaning towards Cape Cod, as there should still be plenty of red-hot foliage action in the Falmouth area with the added bonus of cranberry bog viewing, but any and all suggestions are appreciated!

While you're on the Cape, the Nauset Highland area is beautiful in October!
